Seeing a Couples Therapist
I truly view seeing a couples therapist for couples therapy as a gift couples give not only themselves but to those around them – including children.
When couples aren’t happy, children can often feel this energy. Similar to when you can feel your spouse’s energy when they are in a bad mood or vice versa.
When we are hurting, it not only impacts us but those we love. Which is why seeing a couples therapist for couples therapy can be a wonderful gift partners offer each other.
Not to be overlooked in couples therapy…
Sometimes, when things aren’t going so well, some couples therapists can sometimes focus on all that’s currently going wrong and can miss an important elephant in the room – the fact that you both are there!
You both made the effort.
You both are trying.
You both are brave in the face of any anxiety you might be feeling about being in couples therapy and seeing a couples therapist.
It’s not easy and both partners show tremendous courage by showing up. This is such an important step that can sometimes get missed. An important step that shows you both are taking the same step – together – (by showing up to couples therapy).
