COVID-19 and Therapy Sessions
As things keep evolving around COVID-19, I have received many questions about how to proceed with therapy. Questions from other therapists asking for recommendations on best practices on how to proceed. And questions from current and potential clients wanting to continue and/or begin therapy.
There are a number of ways we can work together!
We can work together via phone. Sessions would be the same as in-person, the only difference is instead of meeting face-to-face in my office, we will be meeting via phone.
Sessions are still 50 minutes. Or, 80 minutes for clients wanting longer sessions.
We can conduct both individual therapy sessions over the phone…Or, we can have our couples therapy session over the phone.
Phone sessions also allow us the opportunity to conference in a partner if someone is in a different location during the time of our appointment.
It’s a convenient option for anyone wanting fast access and not interested in online therapy sessions.
Online therapy sessions are done via computer.
I use a platform that is HIPAA compliant and can allow us to meet face-to-face via computer screen. Through this platform, we can continue or begin (if you’re a new client) with our individual therapy sessions or couples therapy sessions.
Online therapy sessions will be the same length – 50 or 80 minutes – and can accommodate one individual or multiple people as in the case with couples therapy.
