Being in a relationship can be one of the greatest experiences of love and connection with another person. But when communication problems begin, or trust has been broken, it can become one of the most stressful and difficult of times. This is where couples therapy can help.
Often, I am asked whether couples therapy can help couples learn how to communicate better. Whether couples therapy can help couples repair resentments. And establish more of an emotional bond with one another.
The answer is Yes!
Couples therapy can help couples struggling within their relationship. But, it does require time and work…
Couples therapy can help when
- Things aren’t going well between you
- When communication is causing distance
- Trust has been broken
- You’re lonely in your relationship
Common Relationship Problems
All relationships have their share of ups and downs. But, when your relationship problems are starting to impact how you relate to each other. And are keeping you from feeling connected. It can filter into other areas of your life. Making everything harder.
When relationship issues are boiling under the surface, overwhelm and hopelessness can creep in. Leaving you unsure how to fix things between you.
This can be especially true when communication issues are keeping you stuck in what feels like the same disagreements or arguments over and over again.
Communication becomes even more difficult when trust issues question the safety and bond of your relationship. Causing you to question the commitment you have toward each other. Leading to overwhelming emotions that can take over and be hard to sort out on your own.
This is especially true if infidelity has been revealed or discovered. Intense emotions can emerge and vary from minute to minute, leaving affair recovery as an unknown and difficult to even think about. Unsure whether you want to stay or go and feeling stuck or trapped.
